Written, directed and shot by Ben Hamilton, Hope in the Sunrise is an independent short Adventure/Fantasy film set in a fictional society tormented by oppressive forces. Intimately involved in every aspect of the process, Hamilton adeptly and successfully experiments with technical devices such as artificial rain, set design and construction, computer animation and original composition.
The film explores the internal and external influences and circumstances which challenge anyone who believes in and fights for freedom. Throughout the film we are reminded that freedom is always bought with a price, that sometimes the sacrifice must be part – or even all – of ourselves, and yet, no matter what transpires, there is always hope.
